The wooded areas of the site are made up of a mosaic of different woodland types, mainly consisting of a mixture of broadleaved trees including oak, birch, sweet chestnut, sycamore and beech. There are also areas of coniferous trees including scots and maritime pine.

The understorey is generally made up of bramble, bracken, holly and rhododendron with species such as herb-robert, dog rose, common sorrel and pendulous sedge along the edge of the path network.
