Management and Volunteering

Upton Community Woods is managed by Purbeck District Council.

As per the management plan, the main areas of management are to:

- Maintain the woods for health and safety standards
- Keep paths and tracks open
- Increase and encourage wildlife use
- Prevent scrub encrouchment on the heath

A continuous programme of community volunteer events are arranged throughout the year with the help of Dorset Countryside Volunteers.
